Is AdWords Killer by Will Halliburton the “Real Deal”? Is it Worth Your Money?
I Picked Up the Tab on This Book and Did a Genuine “No-Holds-Barred” Evaluation of this product.
Is this Book for You or Not? You Decide.
—————-
I just finished reading AdWords Killer, another “how to” book on the saturated market of Pay-Per-Click (PPC). While much of the book focuses on Google AdWords, the king of all PPC at the moment, the principles discussed can be applied to other PPCs such as those found on Yahoo and MSN.
Seeking answers to overcome the saturation of the adwords market, I’ve read many guides on PPCs / AdWords. I’ve been impressed by few and dissappointed by many.
And I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to read this book… I thought it was just another guide that took the other guides and rephrased them a bit and put up new pictures.
But it came at the recommendation of a trusted friend and marketer, so I said “What the hell…”
I did NOT expect any new profound tactics and techniques. I was very much thinking, “What else can I possibly learn about adwords that hasn’t been regurgitated by every poser adwords guru out there?“
Boy was I wrong :o)
AdWords Killer starts off the book with a crash course (and by crash course I mean a CRASH course) of the AdWords fundamental basics with videos & pdf’s.
Then Will Halliburton gets into the meaty stuff.
What he does here I appreciate a lot: he goes about Google AdWords from the perspective of an affiliate marketer. Rather than assuming you are advertising for your own business, (whatever that may be), he speaks directly to affiliate marketer advertising affiliate products.
His primary goal is to serve affiliate marketers looking for a truly viable way to make money.
And if you’re an affiliate marketer, you know how tough it is to be profitable on adwords today. Google Cash has become Google Debt.
Well, Adwords Killer is a very short (85 pages) ebook, but is the most valuable information I’ve read on AdWords in a long time.
It makes Perry Marshall look like a beginner.
It puts a whole new perspective on Google AdWords and it instantly gave me some great ideas for generating other streams of income – and with the tactics Will describes in the book, I am sure I will.
Will Halliburton covers many really neat techniques and “tricks” that were completely new to me and it got me hooked. I found myself reading this in the can at work, while my boss was paging me wondering where I was.
Remember, I’ve read lots of other guides on AdWords already and I even wrote a chapter on it for a friend’s marketing course. Now I’m going to have to rewrite that chapter with this new found information and teaching.
Introducing Content Network Advertising
I also appreciate Will Halliburton’s effort at introducing the Content Networks aspect of Google AdWords and how to capitalize on it when many other guides say to “avoid it” for the sake of simplicity.
He also covers many other topics that are often left unsaid in other guides: Site-Targeting, Positioning, Image Ads, Pay-Per-Leads, Click Frauds, and much much more.
AdWords Killer by Will Halliburton is a breath of fresh-air into the PPC Guide Market. He goes out on a limb to suggest new tactics that other authors are afraid to dabble in.
Perhaps the main downside to his ecourse is that some parts of the article are a bit dense and short on explanations (even for some one experienced such as myself). I had to re-read some paragraphs and instructions a few times before I grasped what he was trying to say. But once I did, it was “money”.
I am sure more pictures would’ve helped in these cases.
I would strongly recommend AdWords Killer to amateurs and experts of Google AdWords. Not so much if you are a true newbie to Google AdWords, although this book comes with a beginner’s guide and video as a bonus, in case you are.
